Our Impact

Imagine: a transformed Bahamas where everyone has access to three nutritious and fortifying meals each day. We’re not there yet but with your help we are affecting change.

We work relentlessly

  • To date, we have rescued more than 1,000,000 lbs. of fresh, surplus food and provided the equivalent number of meals to Bahamians in need
  • More than 35% of our food donations in 2013 consisted of high need items, including: dairy, fresh produce, meat, and other proteins
  • A growing network of 30 restaurant, hotels, wholesalers, bakeries, and farms generously donate high quality food
  • Each week, our two refrigerated trucks collect and distribute an average of 4,431 lbs. of food
  • The 17 outreach agencies we currently serve provide nearly 15,000 meals each week to Bahamians in need of emergency food assistance
  • Today, more than 7 additional social service agencies remain on our waiting list with the hope of receiving food deliveries
  • The food we rescue would have otherwise gone to landfill, we have prevented approximately 2,300 tons of C02 emissions from entering the atmosphere
  • We enacted The Good Samaritan Law of 2010, which protects food donors from liability associated with their donations
