University of Miami Students Complete H4H Semester Projects
"Our group was given the opportunity to help Hands for Hunger move closer to their goal of reducing hunger in the Bahamas. Working with H4H was one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives."

The entire group is extremely proud of what we have accomplished and excited about the opportunity to help such an important non-profit organization lessen their impact on the environment.

December marked the conclusion of a semester-long project undertaken by four
freshmen teams at the University of Miami's Business School. As
part of the university's recently introduced Management 100 course, first-
year students worked with Hands For Hunger for several months to carry out specific
project assignments designed to add value to the organization.
In an ambitious and
impressive effort, the students prepared both a Green Practices Guide for the
organization, as well as an Educational Communications Plan aimed at elementary
and high school students ranging from ages 5-18.
At the culminating presentations made by the students, H4H was presented with
high-level reports containing original materials and suggestions for implementation.
Some of the deliverable included: a green practices manual, a children's hunger
activity work book, student brochures and a plan to install a bio-diesel kit on our
trucks.
The hard work of the UM students will help Hands For Hunger to optimize our
communication efforts to raise awareness about Hunger amongst Bahamian students
and streamline our operations to become more eco-friendly. To all of the freshmen,
Student Team Leaders, and Professor Facilitators at the University of Miami, we
atH4H say a tremendous thank-you for your commitment and support of H4H. We
hope we have the privilege of working with the Management 100 program and
its students again in the future!
