| During the weekend of November 21st ad 22nd, Hands For Hunger participated for the 2nd year in a row in the Bahamas National Trust's Winter Jollification Event with our gourmet soup and fresh bread stand. Although warmer weather made sales of soups a little more challenging than last year's chilly spell, supporters at the event helped H4H to raise almost $3,000 in funds! More importantly, H4H was able to interact with the local community and raise awareness of hunger on our island. Thank-you to all of our corporate event sponsors for their generous support: RBC, Aqua Pure, The British Colonial Hilton, Van Brugels, The Soup as well as bread sponsors Karen Carey and Kate Law. We are also very grateful to the entire team of devoted H4H volunteers who helped with soup preparation, stall set-up and take-down, serving and in donating event supplies like spoons, containers and ice. |
